Who's A. Gagliano?
We are a fourth generation family owned and operated wholesale produce distributor and repacker. Located conveniently within blocks of freeway access in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we service regional supermarket warehouses and foodservice companies within a 300 mile radius of Milwaukee.
We are a leader in ripening technology for tomatoes, bananas, pears and stone fruit. Our approximately 200,000 square feet of refrigerated space allows us to handle a wide variety of produce. Historically, our niche has been tomatoes, but we expect to be equally known for our bananas and other fruit and vegetables. We offer full service repacking and bagging capabilities, including PLU and UPC barcoding with the latest (and best) equipment available. We can bag or repack to customer specifications very rapidly and have scannable produce packs ready for sale.
Our goal is to provide the consumer with the finest tasting and best looking fresh produce available, and our investment in our facilities enables us to care for the produce better than anyone else can in the Midwest, and perhaps the whole country.

Gagliano History
All of this is a long way from peddling fruit door to door.
A. Gagliano Co. was founded by Antonino Gagliano, who came here from Sicily in the 1850's. He had a steamship business and a produce business. His four sons - Tony's father, Santo, along with Nick, James, and Frank - began peddling fruit house to house as far north and west as 68th and Burleigh streets. Later, they bought some trucks and expanded the business north to Port Washington and Plymouth.
After World War II, the four brothers formed a commission house, operating for a long time on Commission Row in the Third Ward.
With the new facility, Gagliano has grown to a company with about 70 - 100 full-time employees that sells produce all over Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

This is our current home. Of note is the fact that Gagliano relatives lived and worked on these very grounds over a century ago.
This is our impressive terminal shipping and receiving area.
